Lions Tasmania is one of 19 Districts forming the Lions Australia Multiple District 201 (Australia, Papua-New Guinea and Norfolk Island).

Lions is a Way of Life - We serve our communities, help the less fortunate, assist young people become good citizens and community leaders.

Grouping twenty or more citizens into a club gets things done. Our association requires a minimum of twenty civic-minded persons to form a new club.

A Lions club operates under the emblem of Lions Clubs International. It becomes a community force with members from all classifications of life. Because the public have faith in the Lions name, doors are open to its members.

As each club is autonomous, it can invite whomever it wishes to join, and can undertake whatever projects better serve their community. A new club has a sponsor club to assist and guide it in the formative months, and has the help of district officers. The purpose of club visits is only to help and not dictate to the club and its members.

All clubs operate under the management of a board of directors who are elected annually by the membership. The board consists of a president, three vice-presidents, secretary, treasurer, Lion tamer, tail twister, first and second year directors, and a membership chairman.
