Help for Tasmanian Devils

On Saturday 2nd June 2007, a group of Lions pitched in to help some young Tasmanian Devils. Wildlife carer Jude Lennox needed a new enclosure built on her BlackmansBay property she called on the generosity of the Lions Club of Kingborough. The club was very quick to come to her assistance. Ms Lennox began looking after devils last year. She is currently raising two devils who are now 11 months old. When the young devils arrived they were both on eight feeds a day, and it was taking an hour to an hour and a half for each feed."

A team of 10 Lions Club members was on hand to build the large enclosure, and Ms Lennox said this would give her room to look after them properly.

If all goes according to plan the devils will be returned to the wild when they are able to care for themselves
