About the Sunshine Association
The Sunshine Association of Tasmania provides financial assistance to children in need on an individual basis through three regional committees in Tasmania. Finances are administered through the Tasmanian Lions Foundation. (Please note that grants from Sunshine Association are NOT the same as grants from the Tasmanian Lions Foundation)
Three regional Committees (see contacts page for details) have been formed to further the work of the Sunshine Association of Tasmania Inc., an organisation committed to the assistance of children in need.
The committees, consisting of volunteer community members, exist to encourage, assess and meet requests for financial assistance for children. Such requests can come from schools, community groups, social workers, concerned neighbours and others.
Funding may be available for School camps/ excursions, Clothing needs, Exceptional medical requirements or any other needs assessed on an individual basis.
We encourage applications for assistance from adults who work with children (School Principals, Welfare officers, Youth and Health Workers etc.) who perceive an area of need which cannot be met from family or other resources.
Every application is considered. However assistance is provided at the discretion of the committee.
